Condition as removed from the car

Top view with the trumpets and pans removed
Note all the oil and debris built up in the galleries

Close up showing the top of the needle valves after
removing the plugs. If you remove the air correction jets then the top half of the carb body will come off
much easier

Top half of carb removed showing dirty float cambers. The accelerator pump injectors can be removed at this point. They are a tight fit so pull directly upwards and they will let go eventually!
Be prepared for the valve underneath to fall out.
I found the tip of the accelerator injector just the right size to put in the end of the emulsion tube (under the air correction jet) and extract it.

The underside of the top half showing the floats.

Accelerator pump gaskets as removed. Note the piles of rust and dirt built up in the diaphragm.

Main body cleaned up. I left the spindles in place. They were well aligned and the bearings appeared in good condition, so best to leave well alone expect for cleaning

Pre atomisers and venturis removed.
Can you tell which barrel was running rich?!!

New accelerator pump gasket. Don't forget the spring.
